London Art Biennale Events

In parallel to the exhibition itself, there are events that take place during the London Art Biennale in which the public are invited to participate. All events are free just please just let us know you are coming via the RSVP links below.
Thursday 27th July, 5-7pm
“A Thousand Voices” is a Virtual Reality exploration and exhibit that allows participants to create intimate and emotional connections with the memories of Gulag survivor and Ukrainian watercolour artist, Ivanna Maszczak. On the 11th of April 1949, Ivanna was sentenced to ten years of hard corrective labour for supporting Ukrainian independence. She was transported over ten thousand kilometres from Kyiv to the coastal Gulag camp at Magadan, Kolyma, where she remained until her release in 1955. During the talk, Daniel Bacchus BA, MA, FHEA of Sheffield Hallam University will introduce the Virtual Reality project alongside Ivanna Maszczak who is currently 98 year old.

A Thousand Voices consists of two VR experiences by LIBá Collective (Bacchus, Green & Schreur) that are free and open to the public for the duration of the London Art Biennale. Click here to learn more
Friday 28th July, 3pm
It is a London Art Biennale tradition to give help to people in need. Over the years, tens of thousands of pounds have been raised and donated to Rotary International’s “End Polio Now” Charity, the Salvation Army, London’s Air Ambulance and Age UK to name a few.
The Rotary Club of Kensington and Chelsea represent Rotary at the London Art Bienniale 2023. The Trust Fund, Rotary Club of Chelsea Trust Fund, is a registered Charity No: 1094309 will allocate funds raised from the raffle to Rotary activated and Rotary supported projects both locally and internationally.
Rotary is dedicated to tackling problems that include providing funds for water, health access and literacy internationally and locally. Rotary can take credit for being the driving force in ending polio on a global level.
As always, 100% of all money raised will go to charity.

30th July, 3.30pm
The selection process narrowed down artwork submissions to approximately 400 artists that are on show at the 6th edition of the London Art Biennale. The 400 exhibited artists are then awarded a range of prizes including monetary winnings totalling £11,000. Join us to witness the action first hand.
Some events have more stringent capacity limitations and so are by invitation only

The London Art Biennale is renowned for connecting creative people together in an intimate, welcoming and transparent environment. Many selected artists will not be in London for the show, but we invite who can attend to join us at a cocktail party at Gagliardi Gallery.
