Getting the work here
A rolled canvas travels for a fraction of the cost of a crate. The Biennale stretches it at the other end, free, and packs it back into the same tube afterwards.
Send it in a tube
Shipping a stretched, framed canvas across a border is what stops most artists applying to anything abroad. Rolled in a tube, the same painting posts from almost anywhere for very little.
Work can equally arrive already mounted or framed if that is preferred. Canvases need at least 31 mm of depth to be exhibited unframed.

Standard bars are 38 mm deep, for a gallery-standard presentation, and can be made shallower where a canvas does not have the border for them.
Framing under glass
Works on paper can be sent rolled and framed here. Prices include the frame and normal glass; UV art glass and acrylic are quoted on request.

Framing canvases
Optional, and additional to stretching. Frames are made to measure and priced by the sum of the work’s dimensions in centimetres, read as pounds: a 50 × 50 cm work costs £100, a 100 × 150 cm work costs £250. Artists may upgrade to a frame of their own choosing.
Delivery
Three routes, three deadlines. The exact dates are issued to selected artists once the edition is scheduled, along with the shipping address and detailed guidance. Transport to London, and home again, is the artist’s own arrangement and cost.

The exhibition venue
Accepted on two named days only, in the weekend immediately before opening.
Afterwards
Artists are welcome to collect their work or arrange collection. Otherwise the team will take the work down, remove it from its stretcher and repack it in the packaging it arrived in, adding fresh soft packaging where it is needed, free of charge — and can then quote for the return shipping, or the artist arranges their own from the packed size and weight. Work sold during the show needs none of this: the Biennale delivers it to the buyer itself.
Collection must be made, or arranged, within 8 weeks of the artist being told the work is ready. Work left uncollected beyond that is treated as donated, unless something else has been agreed with the team.
